A stage in Abu Dhabi became the starting point for Dubai-based Kashvi Majmundar’s journey into Bollywood. Years after catching attention at the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), the young performer landed an acting role in Citadel: Honey Bunny, the Prime Video series directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, better known as Raj & DK.
Kashvi first gained attention through dance. In 2022, Nora Fatehi selected the young Dubai talent to perform with her at IIFA in Abu Dhabi after noticing her skills through a dance talent initiative. That performance helped put Kashvi in front of people from the Indian entertainment industry and opened new opportunities.
Her next major step came through acting. Kashvi was cast as the younger version of Nadia in Citadel: Honey Bunny, a character connected to Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ role in the wider Citadel universe. The series stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Varun Dhawan, with Raj & DK directing the six-episode production.
For a young performer living in Dubai, the role marked a major break. Kashvi had no Bollywood family background, and her route into the industry began with her talent rather than an established film connection. She also had the chance to work alongside major Indian stars while making her acting debut.
The UAE connection became even more notable when Kashvi later received the TOIFA Best Debut award for her performance in Citadel: Honey Bunny. Gulf News reported that she competed against adult performers for the award, making the recognition an important early achievement in her acting career.
Kashvi’s story shows how opportunities in the UAE can reach far beyond the country’s entertainment scene. A performance in Abu Dhabi led to industry attention, while her life in Dubai continued alongside her school years and growing acting career.
Her journey from a Dubai-based young dancer to a performer working with Raj & DK is still developing. For Kashvi, the Abu Dhabi IIFA performance was not simply another stage appearance. It became the moment that helped open the door to Bollywood.
