Fuel pumps in the UAE are getting a price hike as of June 1, with the government having announced prices for the new month of June 2026. It is the current implementation of the change, which was the first fuel pricing hike since the Emirates’ entry into the global market in May when it became an independent oil producer from being a part of the OPEC and OPEC+ limits.
Fuel Prices Monitoring Committee decided to jack up the prices of all petrol grades in May while the world oil markets continue to fluctuate. International oil prices are still high with a ceasefire in some areas of the Middle East and diplomatic talks ongoing.

Fuel Prices Continue Upward Trend
June is seeing the fourth straight month of hikes—just as prices of crude oil on the international markets move up and down. The increase in fuel prices can affect household budgets, especially for those who use private vehicles to commute every day.
While prices continue to be lower than those recorded in 2022, they are now moving closer to the record highs. The Super 98 petrol is up at Dh4.63 per litre in July 2022, the highest record price, as the special 95 rose to Dh4.52 per litre due to the global energy crisis that was caused by the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. So motorists and businesses will bear watching as the global situation continues to change, and they await future fuel price announcements in the coming months.
