UAE’s Eid Al Adha 2026 Prayer Timings Announced Across Emirates

UAE is busy preparing to accommodate thousands of Muslims during Eid Al Adha 2026 prayers on Wednesday, May 27, in the various Muslim worship centres. It is recommended to do Eid prayers shortly after sunrise, with the duration differing slightly from emirate to emirate and city to city.

Eid this year falls near the time of tension in the region, which is related to the conflict with Iran, but in various stories at the international level, there have been reported signs related to the Iranian file that are aiming towards calm and reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Security forces all over the UAE have called on worshippers to arrive early, due to the high levels of crowd expected at the mosques and places of prayer during morning prayers.

Worshippers Advised to Arrive Early

The Islamic authorities conveyed that typically around 15 to 20 minutes after sunrise the prayers of Eid are held. The residents are encouraged to come to the mosques around the 5:30hr so as to avoid the congestion and allocate a parking space. Major open prayer grounds and mosques throughout the country are likely to host large prayer services.

Eid Sunnahs Before Prayer

Traditionally Muslims will do a lot of Sunnahs before they go to prayer on Eid Al Adha such as:

  • Washing with ritual purity, ghusl.
  • Wearing clean or new clothes
  • Applying perfume
  • Try to walk to the mosque, if possible.
  • Taking an alternate way on the way home

This prayer is called the Eid Prayer and is made of two rak‘ah or several prayers in addition to more takbeers, followed by greetings and family get-togethers.

Udhiya Sacrifice Begins After Eid Prayer

Muslims start to perform the ritual of Udhiya (Qurbani), which has its origin in the faith and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) after the prayer of Eid.

UAE police have called on people to go to registered slaughterhouses or approved services rather than slaughtering animals in residential or public areas for worship. The meat of the sacrifice is usually shared amongst the family, with neighbours and the needy.
