Dubai Police Warn Drivers After 25 Injured in Jebel Ali Road Multi-Bus Crash

Dubai Police Jebel Ali Road crash

25 people were injured after a vehicle collided with three buses on Jebel Ali Road, UAE prompting Dubai Police to warn again of the risks of putting vehicles on bus roads. The wounded had suffered serious, moderate and minor injuries and they were brought to the nearest hospitals for treatment. The official statement came out on Saturday, but authorities have not fleshed out when the crash happened. Dubai Police stated that the incident started with a technical problem in one of the buses, resulting in it coming to a standstill at the road’s centre. The chasing vehicle drivers and two other buses failed to stop in time from the rear of the stopped vehicle, causing a pileup.

Investigators with the Police Traffic Works were called in to investigate traffic accident scene and identify the precise cause of the accident. Police officials were observing the traffic, assisting in securing the area for the emergency responders to ensure their safety, and helping to coordinate the removal of damaged vehicles so that traffic would return to normal. The General Department of Traffic Acting Director Brigadier Essam Ibrahim Al Awar called on motorists to be extra careful in the event of their vehicle breaking down. As driver, inform passengers to ensure their safety, turn on flashers and go to a safe distance from traffic and communicate with police for help, and place a warning triangle at the back of the vehicle.

The Dubai Police also cautioned against stopping at the centre of the road and receiving a Dh1,000 fine and six black points in accordance with the Federal Traffic Law for avoidable issues related to vehicles. If you obstruct the traffic, you may receive an additional Dh500 ticket. Authorities highlighted the risk of serious accidents after the sudden stopping of vehicles on active roads and said motorists need to make sure their vehicles are roadworthy when they are on the road.
