The body of a citizen of India, who died in Sharjah, UAE after allegedly getting into an argument involving a TikTok live session, will be returned to India on Thursday, legal representatives handling the case said. Yab Legal Services CEO, Salam Pappinissery, said that the body of the victim would be handed over by Sharjah’s forensic department before it reaches his hometown of Kannur, Kerala. After Asr prayers, it could be expected that the prayers would be uttered in the mosque situated inside the premises of the forensic department during the funeral prayer. The bodies will be airlifted to India on an Air India Express aircraft that is scheduled to take off from Sharjah around 10.40 pm. The expected escort of the body on the way home is the victim’s brother.
Dispute Allegedly Began During Tik Tok Live Session
The 40-year-old Indian national died allegedly after an argument that reportedly grew violent during a TikTok Live stream. The videos shared by Indian media outlets show that the victim and his mother could have had heated remarks and insults online before agreeing to meet up with the suspect in person in Sharjah. It is reported that the two men had already been engaged in an online feud for a while before the incident.
Fatal Injury Detailed in Forensic Report
A report submitted to the court by a surgeon revealed that the victim was severely injured in his leg. The wound was said to be of serious magnitude with a consequent bleeding which led to his death. The reason for death was documented in Al Qassimi Hospital, Sharjah as hypoxic shock caused by an assault with sharp objects in the medical records. The victim used to work at a ‘Juice Shop’ in Dubai, and according to the tracking of social media posts by said followers, it was not uncommon for the woman to post videos on TikTok regularly. He is survived by his wife and six-year-old son.
Investigation Continues
The shooting took place in the Al Nahda region of Sharjah soon after midnight on the evening of 31st May. Immediately after the attack, the victim was rushed by emergency workers to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save him. Sharjah Police officials have reportedly detained dozens of people so far in the investigation into the case, which continues to be under investigation, Salam Pappinissery said. He also mentioned the role of the Kerala Agriculture Minister T. Siddique for his help in expediting the procedures related to the repatriation process.
