One of the largest transport providers of schoolchildren in the UAE has already declared that their transport rates will be reduced by 60% in April, thereby very much facilitating the finances of parents during the process of returning to school classes.
The relocation comes after a gradual reopening of schools since April 20 and some schools have started in-classroom education as others embrace remote learning due to recent derailments.
Adjustment Due to Reduced Service
In almost seven weeks of distance learning, bus usage in the school was also low. Schools Transport Services (STS) announced the reduction of the fee indicating the amount of service offered at the time.
Early payers will be given credits to future bills making sure that they incur no loss.
Services Resume with Safety Measures
STS confirmed that buses have resumed their normal schedules, staff, and even safety systems are fully equipped to accommodate students back to school.
Annual Pricing Model Explained
CEO of STS Group, Steve Burnell explained that school transport is run on an annual basis, taking care of the year-round expenses of fleet repairs, staffing, and safety regulations. The exceptional circumstances have however resulted in a pro-rata adjustment being made in April.
He said that services are scaled according to demand with route planning being modified as schools reopen.
