The transport department of Dubai has admitted that it has a temporary technical problem with its online systems, and residents were not able to finish some of the most important services involving vehicles.
Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) acted on the complaints that were posted to social platform X, asking the subjects of the complaint to send further information to them via direct messages. The support was to be provided by providing the full name, mobile number, and information related to the service to the authority.
Motorists Report Widespread Access Issues
Dubai residents complained that they had been experiencing challenges in accessing the RTA mobile app as well as its official site. The disturbance has affected services such as:
- Vehicle registration renewals
- Driving licence renewals
- Scheduling checkups of vehicles.
- Remittance of outstanding traffic fines.
The users have reported that either the sites are not responding or showing recurrent error messages, thus failing to accomplish their daily transactions.

Residents Share Frustrations
Several drivers complained about the delays due to the technical malfunction. Rasheed MK, a business marketing expert, said that he had been trying to renew his car registration without success for over five days.
Even after passing the vehicle fitness test at a testing centre in Al Qusais, he failed to complete the process of vehicle renewal based on either self-service kiosks or via mobile. His claim that he could not clear pending fines also brought out issues of possible fines as a result of lapsed registration.
Analogous conversations occurred on the Internet as other users reported the inability to book an inspection appointment and a system failure that occurred when trying to access services.

RTA Defees Temporary Technical Problem
In its replies, the RTA assured them that the inconvenience is temporary and comforted users that the technical departments are working to rectify the inconvenience. UAE pass also made it difficult to access the system since some users could not log in after trying to do so.
During the reporting hours, no employment has been made to establish whether all the services are fully restored. Inquiries on the media directed towards RTA have been made and more updates are expected.
