Abu Dhabi Police Arrest 45 Over Filming Incidents

Abu Dhabi, UAE — March 14, 2026:

Abu Dhabi Police has arrested 45 individuals of various nationalities on the accusations of filming the places of the ongoing events and distributing the videos on social media.

The officials claimed that the individuals were also engaged in spreading misleading and inaccurate information on the Internet, which may potentially affect the opinion of the population and establish unjustified rumors in the community.

The authorities affirmed that legal and administrative action was taken against the perpetrators. The move is in continuation of activities by the security agencies to keep track of the violations associated with misuse of social media platforms.

In its release, Abu Dhabi Police emphasized that it is against the law to capture the scenes of incidents and share information that is incomplete information. The authority advised individuals and social media users to verify the authenticity of information before posting it, especially those who are not official.

It was also warned by police that such content dissemination would have an impact on community safety and disrupt active security operations.

People were instructed to get their news exclusively through reliable and authorized channels and not to film or post images and videos of the areas of incidents.

Abu Dhabi Police also stated that it is keeping a close eye on internet sites and anyone caught breaking the rules associated with misinformation or illegal filming would suffer very serious legal action.

The government stressed that it is part of the community to be responsible and cooperative in maintaining peace and security in the community.
