President’s initiatives deliver new bridges and improved connectivity across the emirate
As part of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s initiatives, Ajman officially inaugurated a large road infrastructure project that aims to ease congestion and improve traffic flow throughout the emirate.
Under the oversight of the Committee for the Follow-Up of the President’s Initiatives (CFOPI), the project demonstrates the UAE’s commitment to improving transport networks and supporting urban sustainable development.
Al Tallah Street is a key component in the project. It’s a 3.2-kilometer corridor that will improve connectivity between the main residential and commercial areas. This upgrade will reduce commute times in Ajman and make daily travel easier.
Two major bridges will also be constructed on the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road – one of UAE’s busiest highways. Al Tallah Bridge, 800 m long, and Al Hamidiya Bridge 1,100 m in length have been built to improve road capacity along this important route.
Two major intersections under the bridges were also opened in order to improve traffic flow between the internal roads and highway. The intersections are designed to improve road safety and reduce bottlenecks while providing easier access to the nearby neighborhoods.
The initiative, according to officials, is part of an overall strategy that aims at accommodating Ajman’s rapidly growing economy and population by investing in a modern infrastructure with high capacity capable of meeting present and future transportation needs.
Newly opened roads are expected to be a key factor in improving Ajman’s mobility and its connection with other emirates.
