Applications Open for 2026-27 Scholarship
The applications have been officially launched for the Mohammed bin Rashid Scholarship for Emirati Media Students for the upcoming academic year 2026-2027 by the Dubai Media Office. Eligible students from the UAE attend the fully-funded programme of study at AUD where they study media and communication.
The project was presented on Monday and its goals are to nurture the next generation of Emirati journalists, storytellers, digital creators, and media professionals. The scholarship is provided by Dubai Media Council under Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision to make the national media sector robust.
The students who are chosen to attend the programme will study at AUD’s top media education centre, Mohammed Bin Rashid School for Communication.
Focus on Future Media Talent
These scholarship centres offer programmes in the field of Journalism, Digital Production and Storytelling, and Game Design and Development. As digital content and modern storytelling continue to take over media in the future, these fields become more and more crucial, officials said.
AUD’s business goals with the partnership are to invest in Emirati talent and its ability to create an advanced media environment. She said the programme is designed to help students gain technical skills, skills of creativity and critical thinking required in the dynamic, evolving media industry.
Hesham Al Olama extended his focus on academic training in modern media, pointing out that the media has undergone significant changes in recent years due to the changes it has seen in platforms and communication methods.
In the meantime, Sophie Boutros said the scholarship had helped prepare graduates, who are now helping in the various aspects of the media industry in the UAE and beyond.
Applications will be accepted via AUD website. Grade 10, 11 and 12 transcripts, Emirates ID and passport photocopies, and creative portfolio based on guidance documents.
Applications close at the end of June 2026.
